Special Town Board Meetings will be held Tuesdays, July 15 at 7:30PM (note later starting time) and July 22, at 7:00PM in the Town Hall to discuss planning of the new Highway Garage. The meeting on July 15th will consider financing and budget options, and the one on July 22nd will consider the layout and design of the site and structure. Other Town business will be conducted at these meetings as needed.
New York State Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
Supervisor Ray Staats and Town Board member Dianne O'Neal attended a meeting in June to discuss the rising cost of home heating and learned about several government programs that are available to help low-income and senior residents with the bills. Columbia County Solid Waste Department will sponsor a free appliance disposal for the month of July. Metal appliances will be accepted at all solid waste stations with the exception of the following which must be taken to the Greenport Transfer Station. Refrigerators, Freezers, Dehumidifiers, water coolers and air conditioners. Any questions please call 518-828-2737.
